MULTIPLE ENTERPRISE FARM PLAN(Goat farming and Mustard cultivation)
INTRODUCTION
GULMI district is suitable for
both goat farming and mustard cultivation as there is appropriate climatic
condition and. At initial 50 goats is reared in farm in which some are exotic
goat ‘BOAR’ and some are local goats ’RAITHUNE’. The mustard of high yielding
variety suitable for sub tropical region i.e. LUMLE-1 is cultivated along with
the farm. There is provision of good transportation system so that products
i.e. mustard oil and goats are brought back to KAPILVASTU for selling. Goats
are mainly reared for live sell and manure is utilized in mustard field as it
contain comparatively high sulfur and the mustard oil cake is utilized as goat
feed as it contain high amount of protein and increase goat weight . Initially
loan is taken from bank for settlement and land is hired for construction of
building and cultivation of mustard. Our main target is production in GULMI and
brought back to KAPILVASTU for its sell.
COMPANY SUMMARY
The business will run with 50 goats
initially in which 5 goats are bought from SOUTH AFRICA i.e. pure BOAR male
goat and 45 goats are local female RAITHANE goat. The mustard will be
cultivated using conservation agriculture(C.A.) for its good yield, low cost of
production and soil betterment. Our business
mainly focuses on the maximum utilization of available green fodder and low
amount of ration and mustard oil cakes. About 15 kattha land is hired for
preparation of building with well equipped and 10 kattha for cultivation of
mustard. Fresh drinking water and irrigation provision is made. The site selection is not
too far from transportation road and facility of electricity. 3 labors were
initially employed for the rearing of goat and roaming of mustard field. During
day time, goats are kept free for roaming. The manuring and fertilizer of
recommended dose for mustard provision is made. The weeding will be done time
to time.
MULTIPLE ENTERPRISE FARM PLAN
PRODUCTS
Our business is mainly focuses on
selling of live goat and mustard oil. The manure of goat is utilized in mustard
field and by-product of mustard oil i.e. mustard oil cakes is utilized as goat
feeds. As the price of goat is higher in Terai area and the price of mustard
oil is about 1.5 times more in terai area than hilly area , so they are brought
back to kapilvastu and supplied from there. If business runs well, then we will
make provision of extracting of sperm of BOAR goat and sell as AI and also we
will sell meat of goat in usual form or making different meat variety. The
mustard field will extend upto 1 hectre if production goes well.
MARKET ANALYSIS
The demand for goat meat
is high in BUTWAL, NARAYANGHAT, as well in KAPILVASTU too. The goat meat is
more preferable than chicken meat and mustard oil is used in cooking and
religious purposes so there is no
problem for marketing. Our business plan is to sell goat in BUTWAL market
mainly as the price is high in BUTWAL as compared to KAPILVASTU.
STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION
Our business plan is to maximum
utilization of green fodder and mustard biproducts. The cultivation of mustard
is to minimize the use of concentrated ration for goat as its cost is higher
and also mustard cake provide high amount of proteins and fats which will
increase the weight of goat. Time to time vaccination of goat and time to time
check up with local vetenarian is done for prevention from diseases. The goat
manure is used in mustard field which will save some amount of money while
buying fertilizer. The feedstuff is brought from terai area as the cost is
relatively low in terai as compared to hilly region. The local goat is crossed
with BOAR goat so that hybrid is obtained which is more superior than local
breeds and attain 90-120 kg in 1 year. The sell is mainly done during peak
demand of meat i.e. ASOJ and KARTIK so that extra amount can be obtained.
SALE FORECAST
Rearing of BOAR goat or hybrid goat
weighs up to 90-120 kg in one year. The cost of live goat for 1 kg is about
Rs.550 and for meat is about Rs. 750 selling of 1 live goat cost Rs.49,500. Likewise, LUMLE-1
mustard variety yield about 300 kg in 10 kattha area and there will be two
times cultivation of mustard as the climate favour for mustard in Gulmi. The
cost of 1 litre mustard yield Rs. 250 and 250 litre oil can be obtained from
300 kg mustard seed in one cultivation.
Female goat produced at least 2 babies in one kidding and 45 female goats produced at least 90 babies which are also source of income. The goat
produces tons of manure which also have high demand and some used for mustard
field as manure and some are used for selling and earning a lots of money.
Business aim is to sell 3 BOAR goat after 2 years and in the interval of 2
years, 45 goats will be kidding 2 times and babies of first kidding at least 90
babies will be sold out and 30 babies from second kidding will also be sold out
to earn money and providing sufficient spaces. In 2 years interval, mustard
will be harvested 4 times and each time produced minimum 300 kg mustard
seed(250 litre mustard oil).
MANAGEMENT SUMMARY
Initially 3 labors

number of labor will also increase. There will be accountant, hired staff
member for financial calculation if business goes well. The farm and field is
situated in GULMI district so there will be guard member for protection of
